Supporting the Snowy Hydro 2.0 Project

30th August 2022

Kamat pumps are supplied into many applications and industries in Australia with the latest being the Snowy Hydro 2.0 project. LWH will be supporting Future Generation consortium with service and parts for Kamat pumps supplied as part of the Herrenknecht Tunnel Boring Machines supplied to the Snowy Hydro 2.0 project.

The first of the TBMs has been named Florence after Australia’s first female electrical engineer, Florence Violet McKenzie (1890-1982) and was commissioned in March 2022. Florence will excavate 15kms of the headrace tunnel. The Florence TBM is 143 metres in length and an amazing example of quality engineered technology. Two other TBMs named the Lady Eileen Hudson and Kirsten are deployed on the main access tunnel and emergency cable and ventilation tunnels.

LWH is very excited to support this Renewable Energy Project, it is great supporting new technology and investment for the future.
