Completion this week at our Mackay operations, of a successful full overhaul of a pump and filtration system for one of our underground coal customers. With 16 pod assemblies in total, we’ve got five truck trailers, heading to the Bowen Basin this week.
Traditionally one longwall pump system is fitted on two crawler carts and is located in the cut-through underground, so the system footprint is quite minimal compared to all the associated equipment being housed in pods suspended from the monorail underground. This system is one of the most complexed in operation and continues to be a high performer in terms of production rates and reliability.
The overall floor space taken up in our Mackay workshop was significant, that required good safety planning and project management. A great end result to complete the project on time and shipped out prior to our Christmas shutdown, that commences on Friday 19th of December.
